Joint Give and Take Event

Presented by TESL Windsor and TESL Hamilton-Wentworth
When: Thursday, November 18 @ 7 PM

Do you miss chatting with your co-workers around the photocopier? It’s been 19 months of pandemic teaching and it’s time to come together to share some new ideas. Join TESL Windsor and TESL Hamilton-Wentworth in a networking event while we share teaching ideas around our virtual water cooler. All TESL Ontario members are encouraged to attend.

By attending this event, you agree to share an activity you’ve used over the past year and a half. All attendees will be asked to participate with their audio on. If you are not comfortable with networking with fellow TESL Ontario members in breakout rooms, this may not be the event for you.

TESL Ontario Mentorship Program
TESL Ontario has developed an exciting new Mentorship Pilot Program and we're happy to be able to share it with you!

In a series of moderated virtual events, a group of seasoned TESL professionals from a variety of sectors within the field will be available to provide guidance, advice and best practices to newer educators in search of mentorship.

Mentors are seated in virtual breakout rooms identified by individual program types. The group meets as a whole for introductions and a guided discussion before being placed in the virtual breakout rooms identified in their registration for more in-depth Q&A opportunities and conversation.

Each Mentorship Event lasts for one hour.

Mentorship breakout rooms feature mentors from LINC and Adult ESL, EAP, ELT/OSLT, Test Preparation Instruction and Standard Test Examination.
Please note: available sectors may vary at individual Mentorship Events.

Mark your calendars and watch your email! Our next Mentorship Event takes place on Thursday, December 2, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm with registration opening shortly.

Here’s something to think about from the team at Health Plus Insurance, our partner in offering you our TESL Ontario member plan.

Ask an Advisor: Do I really need health insurance?

We think so but of course it’s your decision. Here are a few things to consider.

The best time to sign up for insurance is when you’re healthy. You get the best plans for the best price. If you wait until you have health issues, insurance costs more and covers less. Plans with no medical questions, while sign-up is simple, should be a last option.

As healthcare costs keep going up, the biggest perk insurance offers is protection in case of the unexpected. But there are also lots of benefits you can use today, including dental coverage, vision, massage therapy, and wellness programs with nutrition support, financial resources, free personal counselling, and more.

Your coverage doesn’t need to be tied to an employer. You can take your plan with you if you decide to freelance, start a business, move from one job or contract, or even retire. Some employers are willing to contribute to your insurance. If you own a business, you can show your team you care by offering benefits, with flexibility to share the cost.
