Directory of Best Practices
TESL Ontario established the Directory of Best Practices team in August 2021.

This team is composed of two ESL resource experts, one FSL resource expert, one technical assistant, and two assistants.

The team regularly updates the Directory of Best Practices with a wide variety of resources related to language learning, including journals, video resources, lesson plans, and online learning games. Topics of note that have been added in the past few months include Language & Racism During the Pandemic, Confronting Native Speakerism, PBLA, Digital Games for Language Learning, and more.

Resources are posted in both official languages and are carefully vetted by our team of experts.

The Directory of Best Practices team welcomes suggestions from the TESL Ontario membership with respect to resources they should be including in the directory. If you have a suggestion or would like to recommend an ESL or FSL resource, please send an email to bestpractices@teslontario.org

Introducing TESL Ontario's CCPLAR
TESL Ontario is pleased to announce that its new Competency-and-Credited Based PLAR (CCPLAR) service is now available to all eligible candidates who are interested in TESL Ontario OCELT & ICTEAL certification and professional designations.

CCPLAR is for ESL/EFL professionals who have not completed a TESL Ontario-accredited training program. The CCPLAR path could be an option for candidates who have a TESL-related diploma or degree or 2,000 hours of recent adult English language teaching experience. CCPLAR takes into account eligible candidates’ TESL credentials, teaching experience, and competencies.

In this video, our Accreditation Services Manager, Reza Mazloom-Farzaghy, walks you through the different options for achieving your designation through CCPLAR.

If you have any questions, please visit www.teslontario.org/ccplar or contact us at accreditation@teslontario.org.
