Imagination Library Book Spotlight
Wonder Walkers
Micha Archer

When two curious kids embark on a "wonder walk," they let their imaginations soar as they look at the world in a whole new light.
They have thought-provoking questions for everything they see: Is the sun the world's light bulb? Is dirt the world's skin? Are rivers the earth's veins? Is the wind the world breathing? I wonder…

Young readers will wonder too, as they ponder these gorgeous pages and make all kinds of new connections. What a wonderful world indeed! Watch the read aloud!
Keep Your Family Going This Month!
Beat the Summer Slide
What is the "summer slide"?
Summer slide is the loss of learning that a child experiences during the summer months when school is not in session. Students who consistently experience learning loss each summer are on an average of two years behind their peers by the end of sixth grade.

This resource from United Way's Raising Readers shares ways to keep your kiddo learning during the summer months!
Quality Early Care and Education Help is Available!
Erie’s Future Fund wants more children to be prepared for success in kindergarten and life. The Fund provides scholarships to children from low-income families to attend a high-quality early childhood education program within Erie County.

Through the federal Head Start program, Child Development Centers offers a free, full-day preschool program to 3-, 4- and 5-year-old children that includes breakfast, lunch, snack, and transportation at select locations. Families can learn more about the Head Start program by calling 814-480-9505 or beginning their enrollment online at www.cdcenters.org/enroll-now.

If your family resides in Erie County, has an annual income at or below 185 percent of the poverty level and have a child who will be attending kindergarten in one or two years, your child may be eligible for these scholarships! Learn more about quality early care here.
