Literacy Strategies for Families Through COVID 19 and Beyond
Are you hoping for some support and advice about reading together at home? Tell us how we can help.

Literacy Strategies for Families facilitates partnerships between families and schools by creating and supporting school teams that include school staff and families who are interested in improving outcomes for students in literacy.

We offer these school teams a non-competitive grant to facilitate the implementation of the team action plan.

Our support will be focused on strategies that are appropriate for all families whose children attend the school, including both students who receive general education support and those identified for special education supports. The plans will be flexible and adaptable to best support culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse families and learners of all ability levels.

To receive support in your school or district,
contact Debbie Esposito, Literacy Coordinator,

This virtual event will provide information to both youth/young adults and their parents on education rights, developing the Transition Plan, the importance of self advocacy and supported decision-making, adult services and more. Join us to learn strategies that will help your family prepare for the future.

Saturday, March 20, 2021
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join fellow parent leaders for a conversation on how we begin to prepare for the return to school and address the impact 2020 had on our children. From inclusion to social emotional learning to transition to evaluations, how do we move forward to address each issue with our school district? We all had a front row seat to our child’s learning, so how do we communicate what we saw and ensure our voice is heard at IEP meetings? Learn about available resources, discuss state and federal guidance, and network with other parents and parent groups in the region.
