AUSTIN’S ICONIC TOY JOY ​​& YUMMI JOY ANNOUNCE GRAND OPENING

WEEKEND EVENTS THIS SEPT 15 - 17

Austin’s beloved toy store Toy Joy® and its sister business, candy concept Yummi Joy®, are ready to celebrate their new Burnet Road location with a weekend full of activations, discounts, sampling and free gifts!

(AUSTIN, TEXAS – Sept. 11, 2023; source: Juice Consulting) – After a soft opening for Toy Joy in July at their new flagship location in the Brentwood / Allendale neighborhood at 5501 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78756, the much anticipated sweet shop Yummi Joy is now also finally ready to unveil at the same address. This new location features the biggest Yummi Joy to date complete with housemade fudge, truffles and chocolates, pick and mix candy, a large assortment of novelty and nostalgic candy, locally made vegan ice cream by Gati, espresso, nitro cold brew, handcrafted sodas, and milkshakes. To celebrate both Toy Joy and Yummi Joy’s new location, an official Grand Opening Weekend has been announced for this weekend, Sept. 15, 16 and 17. The hours for the grand opening are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. 

During the Grand Opening Weekend there will be special discounts, raffles and free goodies, and at Yummi Joy guests can sample ice cream and fudge, as well as enjoy many handcrafted drinks. Smiski characters will be in the house for photo ops and fan visitation (watch Toy Joy’s socials for exact times). In honor of the store's nostalgic decor, the first 100 visitors will receive complimentary slime on all three days. Saturday and Sunday there will be gifts with purchase from many vendors including Pusheen, Schylling, Spinmaster, Ooly and more and customers can get a special Toy Joy temporary tattoo. All specials, prizes and giveaways are available while supplies last. Additionally, Toy Joy now houses the World's Largest Kit Cat Clock and has been holding a naming contest for it with the winner to be announced during the Grand Opening. The winner will win a standard Kit Cat Clock of their choice! Finally, on Friday, Toy Joy Rewards Club Members will get 10% off all purchases, be entered in a raffle to win toys, and enjoy buy one get one on housemade fudge and handcrafted drinks. The new Burnet Road location will continue to cater to the same loyal customers who don’t get Downtown very often: families and students in the north, west and east Austin central neighborhoods. The unmistakable bright pink façade and dripping slime green exterior colors have already been a big draw during the first few weeks of being open in the “LoBurn” IBIZ District, now one of the city’s densest clusters of over 100 most-beloved indie Austin businesses.
