Synod Snapshots from this Week!
6 Lutheran Churches in Humboldt County partnered together this weekend for a Day of Service! The group partnered with three different nonprofits throughout the day to help serve the local community. Our Savior's Lutheran in Ferndale, Christ Lutheran in Fortuna, Lutheran Church of Arcata, Calvary Lutheran in Eureka, Immanuel Lutheran in Eureka, and Grace Good Shepherd in McKinleyville were all present for the day.
One of the morning service projects included serving the Eureka Rescue Mission men's shelter, helping prepare lunch for the community. Learn more about the Rescue Mission here.
The other morning service project led folk to the beach for a clean-up with the PacOut Green Team! You may see a few "Lutherans in Action, Humboldt County" shirts that the group made for their service day together.
Pastor Tita Valeriano worshipped with Mariposa Lutheran Church this past Sunday, led by our Synod Treasurer Pastor Sharon Amundson! Learn more about this Mariposa community here.
Catherine Slabaugh joined Grace Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in McKinleyville for worship Sunday. This Presbyterian-Lutheran congregation welcomed three new Deacons to serve the community! Learn more about the congregation and their interfaith ministries here.
Calvary Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Eureka joined together for a collaborative worship service this past Sunday! Bishop Megan preached at their service and folk joined both in-person and online.

"As the world has reeled from the effects of a deadly pandemic, we have seen the number of hungry people around the world rise, watched as food pantries and soup kitchens expanded to serve an ever-growing number of guests, and longed together for the time when we “will hunger no more, and thirst no more ... and God will wipe away every tear from [our] eyes” (Revelation 7:16-17)."
