Synod Snapshots from this Week!
A weekend of celebrations & farewells with the Pacifica Synod. As Bishop Andy Taylor concludes his time as Bishop of the Pacifica Synod, the other Region 2 Bishops gathered to celebrate his years of faithful service, and welcome their new colleague. The Rev. David Nagler was elected to serve as the next Bishop of the Pacifica Synod! We join the Pacifica Synod in thanking Bishop Andy and celebrating his faithful service over these past 6 years. Bishop David, welcome to the office of the Bishop! We’re excited to journey with you as siblings in Christ.
Our new Executive Assistant to the Bishop, JJ Godwin, spent their Saturday afternoon with Unity Lutheran Church in South San Francisco assisting with their Community Lunch To Go! These takeout lunches served dozens in the community on a sunny Saturday in the city. Thanks for letting JJ join in on the service, Unity!
Rev. Tita Valeriano joined Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) on Saturday, May 21st for their Graduation Ceremony. Congratulations to the Class of 2022!

Statements from Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton

This week, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton released two statements via a press release. We invite you to read both of Bishop Eaton's statements below.

"God's Work. Our Hands." Sunday!
Sunday, September 11, 2022

"This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace."

Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Below you'll find a few resources and a message from our Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton.
