Synod Snapshots from this Week!
Rev. Tita Valeriano joined Shepherd By The Sea Episcopal/Lutheran Mission in Gualala, CA for worship yesterday morning! She was delighted to see Rev. Dan Smith, the congregation's guest Preacher and Presider for the day.
Bishop Megan Rohrer worshipped with Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livermore, CA yesterday morning. Blessings to this justice-minded, intergenerational community - and a special thank you to Rev. John Bost for hosting!
Rev. Manda Truchinski joined Grace Lutheran Church in King City, CA as the community celebrated Rev. Sandi Olson Decker's final Sunday with this community - with worship in a barn! Thanks be to God for the nearly 6 years of ministry Rev. Sandi and the community of Grace shared together.
This past Tuesday, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Santa Clara, CA held a service of decommissioning. This congregation has been worshipping with Hope Lutheran Church in Santa Clara, CA for the past two years and will formally join their community. Blessings to both communities in their continued ministry together!
This past Monday, Bishop Megan Rohrer had the pleasure of spending time with The Belfry Campus Ministry in Davis, CA for their annual Cheney Memorial/St. Augustine Lecture. Bishop Megan spent the afternoon with UC Davis students, then gave a lecture titled “Gender Transgression in Early Christianity” for the entire community that evening. Thank you to Rev. Portia Hopkins for hosting and The Belfry Board for a wonderful dinner.
Rev. Manda Truchinski's #vanlife took an unexpected turn this past week with the gift of snow in May! While visiting the people of Galilee Lutheran Church in Kelseyville, CA, Rev. Manda's van got a free car wash from the snow!

"God's Work. Our Hands." Sunday!
Sunday, September 11, 2022

"This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace."
