Arab American Heritage Month Online Celebration

"April is Arab American Heritage Month! The Association of Lutheran of Arab and Middle Eastern Heritage (ALAMEH) is hosting an online celebration on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. Eastern time. The event will feature speakers Samer Khalaf, national president of the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee and Jonathan Kuttab, executive director of Friends of Sabeel North America. Join us to discuss of Arab American heritage in the United States, advocacy, justice, combating discrimination and more."

in Residence for 2022!

We are thrilled to share with you our Theologians in Residence for 2022! Throughout 2022, our Theologians in Residence will be an integral part of our educational and fellowship-oriented time together. They will serve as Keynote Speakers at our 2022 Synod Assembly, lead workshops and gatherings online, and be available to partner with your congregation in their area of specialty. Earth Day Resources & Worship Service

Lutherans Restoring Creation are releasing a special Worship Service for Earth Day! The service will include guest preacher the Rev. Dr. Carmelo Santos and will be provided in both Spanish and English.

A pre-recorded service will be available this Friday, along with bulletins and other resources to integrate into your worship service.

Pre-Recorded Pentecost Sermon by Synod Staff

As this year's Synod Assembly falls on the weekend of Pentecost, we'd like to support those who will be attending by offering a pre-recorded Sermon for your use on Pentecost Morning - Sunday, June 5th. The sermon will be uploaded at least one week prior to the Assembly and will be able to be downloaded to use as you please.

Have you registered to attend Synod Assembly 2022? The Assembly will commence on Thursday, June 2, 2022 and close Saturday, June 4, 2022. In order to attend synod assembly as a voting member in-person, all individuals will need to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. Registration for the Synod Assembly or any of the accompanying events must be completed online.

Hotel Room Block Available for 2 More Weeks

For Synod Assembly, we've received a block of hotel rooms at a significantly reduced rate at The Nugget Hotel in Sparks, NV. This room block is only available at the reduced rate until May 8th, so we encourage you to book your room today!

Synod Assembly Volunteers Needed

As hundreds of our fellow Lutherans will be attending the Assembly to Worship, Learn, and Conduct the Business of the Sierra Pacific Synod, volunteers are needed to assist Assembly attendees. We are looking for additional volunteers! Here's where volunteers are most needed:
  • Set-Up Team: May 31st anytime
  • Event Photography: June 2nd 12:30-4:00pm, June 3rd 9:00am-12:00pm, June 4th 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Hospitality Greeters: June 2nd 10:00am-2:00pm
  • Registration Support: June 2nd 10:00am-3:00pm
