Updates and Resources from ELCA Churchwide
16 Days of Activism Against
Gender-Based Violence

The Sierra Pacific Synod is partnering with the ELCA and Lutheran Churches across the world for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, happening from November 25-December 10.

Lutherans from around the world will join our Synod on Wednesday, December 1st via the Synod Facebook Page for a Worship Service, led by Bishop Megan Rohrer.

We invite you to join us at 6:00pm here.
World AIDS Day - December 1st

The ELCA joins many across the world in commemorating World AIDS Day on December 1st. The ELCA has written litanies and prayers for congregations to use as we remember and lift up those who have been affected by AIDS and HIV. We encourage congregations to use these in their communal or personal prayers on/around World AIDS Day, December 1st. These worship resources can be found here.
Study Guide: Faith, Sexism & Justice

"A study guide is now available for the ELCA’s newest social statement, Faith, Sexism, and Justice: A Call to Action. The guide features six flexible sessions that can be customized for in-person gatherings or virtual meetings. Each session incorporates prayers, videos, engaging activities, Scripture study and invitations to live out the call to gender justice in the world. Find it here!
Land Acknowledgment Resources for Congregations

Vance Blackfox, the Desk Director for American Indian Alaska Native Tribal Nations, has published a letter following up with the ELCA's Declaration stated on Indigenous Peoples' Day of this year. In the letter, they list Land Acknowledgment Resources for Congregations, as this is just one way we can formally acknowledge the original people of the land in North America.

We invite you to check out the resources here.
ELCA Fund for Leaders: Scholarship Applications Open!

"Applications are now open for ELCA Fund for Leaders scholarships! Each year the Fund for Leaders provides over 40 full-tuition scholarships to future ELCA pastors and deacons who attend ELCA seminaries. In spring 2022, the Fund for Leaders will once again offer scholarships to seminary students. Find out more and apply here."
