If you have previously given to our Outreach campaign, we are appreciative, but please note that you must still register online for the Village if you would like to bid on our silent auction items or purchase a meal or drink. Please do so today.
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
· What if it rains? The Village will take place RAIN OR SHINE. The Village will generally take place outdoors in the courtyard - rain or shine!! Pray for a beautiful weekend! There is no rain date.
· Will there by a sneak peak? This coming Sunday, November 14th, parishioners will be offered a “sneak peak” at some of the silent auction items as well as some of the Redeemer booth offerings immediately after the 9:30 am service in Burns Hall. Additionally, “auction fairies” (aka tech savvy teens and adults) will be on hand to help you register online.
· Will there by a parishioner-only? The Village will be open to Redeemer parishioners only for a preview from 12-2 pm on Friday, November 19th.
· Who is invited to the main fundraising event on Friday, Nov 19th 6-9 pm? You and your friends!! The Village will be open on November 19th from 6-9 pm to Redeemer parishioners, their invited guests, and close neighbors. Please forward the attached invitation to your friends and family so they can register themselves, or you can be generous and prepurchase their meals and drinks for them yourself.
· Can kids come on Friday night? No. Friday evening is open to adults only. There will be many fun activities on Saturday for kids!
· Does it cost money to come to the Village? No. Entrance to the Village is free.
· Why do I need to register if entrance is free? While entrance to the Village is free, to eat, drink or bid on our wonderful silent auction items, you will need to register on the website (https://redeemerchristmasvillage.asimobile.net/). Additionally, if you purchase your meal and drinks tickets by this Thursday, you will save money.
· Registering on this site is confusing. Can someone help me? Yes! The website (https://redeemerchristmasvillage.asimobile.net/), which is secure, does require everyone to create an account with a password and a credit card. This is a new and different log-in from your Redeemer log-in, but you can certainly use your Redeemer information again so that it is easier for you to remember. There will be tech savvy people available to help you this Sunday as well as the evening of the event. Additionally, please contact Caroline Manogue, cbmanogue@gmail.com, if you would like help sooner.
· I registered. Now what? Excellent! Thank you. If you purchased a meal package or drink tickets, please go to the registration table when you arrive at the Village on Friday night. You will receive an envelope with your tickets to be used at the food trucks and the cocktail and/or wine/beer bar. If you only registered for the online silent auction, no need to pick anything up on Friday night. You can just bid online through the secure site once the auction opens.
· Will there be food and drink available on Friday night? Delicious food, artisanal drinks and select wines and beers may be available for purchase. Registering now will help the Christmas Village Committee plan appropriately. We are able to offer a $25 discount on each meal package purchased on or before November 11. Prices will increase on November 12. Please note that a very limited number of meals may be available for purchase the night of, but there is no guarantee.
· What if the weather is bad? Can I get my money back if I bought a meal/drink? Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds, but should there be really inclement weather, take-out containers will be available for the food.
· Food trucks? Really? What exactly will I be able to eat and drink on Friday night? These are not your average food trucks! Le Camion, a gourmet French food truck, will be offering a choice of beef bourguignon, cassoulet or ratatouille – all with a side of truffle fries or escargot skewers! Bon Jour Creperie will be offering a selection of sweet & savory crepes – think your classic French crepes. Yum! 13th Street Cocktails will be offering three signature cocktails/mocktails to get us into the Christmas spirit – a buttered old fashioned, an herbaceous pear concoction and a warm Mexican hot chocolate. And as a special treat, Masterman & Morris will be serving up exquisite wines and beers in Burns Hall.
· Tell me more about the silent auction. How will it work? The silent auction will open this weekend and will close on Friday, Nov 19th at 8:45 pm. Our silent auction will be moving to the 21st Century this year and will occur solely online through the Redeemer Christmas Village website. https://redeemerchristmasvillage.asimobile.net/ Photos and descriptions of the awesome items will become available this week and online bidding will start on Sunday, Nov 14th. You can even bid from home and skip the Village all together (although we hope that you will come!!). You can send the auction link to your faraway friends and family who can bid from the comfort of their own homes. The silent auction items will be available to see in person in Burns Hall (the “sneak peak”) after services on Nov 14th as well on Friday, Nov 19th.
· Is there a raffle? Yes!! The drawings will be Friday, Nov 19th at 8:30 pm. We will be raffling off gorgeous yellow gold square blue topaz earrings donated by Cooke & Berlinger (valued at $800) as well as a Ten-Year Anniversary 2003 Jeraboam of Cabernet Sauvignon (6 liter bottle) from the Clark-Chandon Vineyard (valued between $850 and $1,000) – enough to serve your whole Thanksgiving gathering with one bottle! Tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100 and available for purchase on the website (https://redeemerchristmasvillage.asimobile.net/) and also will be available for purchase on Friday night, Nov 19th.
· What is happening on Saturday, November 20th? The Village will be open to the public on Saturday, Nov 20th 10 am – 3 pm. No registration is necessary for this free outdoor daytime event. Children are welcome! Food and beverages will be available for purchase directly from the Le Camion food truck (they will be offering a delicious assortment of breakfast and lunch items) and the Redeemer Tasty Treats booth.
· How can I help? It would be most helpful if you registered on the website as soon as possible and purchased meal and drink tickets if you are interested. We need to give the trucks a final headcount this week. Also, we need lots of help on the evening and day of the big event. If you are interested in signing up to help for an hour, please email Caroline Manogue at cbmanogue@gmail.com and she will forward you the “SignUp Genius”. Many hands make light work – and it will be fun!!
Please click here https://redeemerchristmasvillage.asimobile.net/ to find additional information, purchase Friday evening meals and drinks and to register for the Friday evening silent auction. Again, please register by November 11, 2021 to allow for proper planning (and to save money). Again, if you miss that deadline, the cost of your meal and drink will increase and there may not be meals available for purchase at the event – and of course, you can register at any time including on Friday evening in person to participate in the silent auction.
If you have any questions or need help in registering, please contact Caroline Manogue 610-742-9072 or Carolyn Morris 610-888-8373.
We are very grateful for all the committee members who have been working diligently to make this event possible. We count on you all to make it a success. See you in the Village!
