Adult Forum
Sunday April 3, 10:45-11:30am, Masterman Hall
“Try to be one of the people on whom nothing is lost.”
This is an admirable line from Henry James. And it begs the question of how we move from the experience of things to incorporating them into our understanding. This Lenten season we initiated a Scriptural Reasoning series, engaging in several conversations with Rabbi Richard Hirsch and Asheq Fazlullah on various aspects of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Each was interesting simply as a form of encounter. But there’s so much more that can be gleaned and learned from our interactions, and we hope to make these sessions a permanent part of our Adult Forum schedule. Today’s forum will be a review and discussion of what we experienced, with the intention of identifying ways we can best continue and develop better understanding. Led by Peter Vanderveen.
First Sunday Evensong
Sunday, April 3 at 4pm
Our monthly Choral Evensong, sung by the Chancel Choir, will include Responses by William Byrd, Evening Service in C of Stanford and the Bleib bei uns of Rheinberger.
