Mission Sunday

WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

On this third Sunday after the Epiphany, we honor and celebrate Mission Sunday, recognizing all who serve faithfully through Missions. We welcome Laurel Spagnolo from Sadler Health Center as our guest speaker.

Sadler Health Center is a federally qualified health center serving Cumberland and Perry counties, providing comprehensive community-based primary care, dental care and behavioral health services with a team of qualified professionals who help others reach healthy lives.

Sadler Health Center puts the health of the community at the center of everything they do. Their team connects patients with resources and support, even beyond their facility. They strive to provide affordable, accessible health care. Sadler Health Center serves everyone, including patients who are uninsured, underinsured or have government-sponsored insurance like Medicaid or CHIP. Sadler Health Center believes that a healthier tomorrow starts with better care and support today. (From the website).

We will also commission our ROAR Team. This year’s trip to Gainesville marks 30 years of hands-on mission work for volunteers from SSPC and friends of the church who have been part of the ROAR Team missions. A rough count of homes built or repaired over the 30 years is about 600. That includes the three one-week ROAR mission trips and local Rebuilding Together work. Thanks be to God for the amazing work of ROAR and Rebuilding Together!

Mission Sunday

SSPC has a rich history of supporting monetarily and physically, local and not-so-local mission works. To celebrate the many mission works that SSPC members are involved in, please wear any T-shirts, ball caps, etc. that you have received doing God's work when you attend services on Mission Sunday, January 22. Thanks, your Mission Committee

Sunday School this week at 10 am

Sunday School continues this week for both children and adults. We continue with practice for our Intergenerational Choir promptly at 10 am, and then proceed into our Sunday School class. Both groups will study Matthew 4:12-23. Following Christ’s call is risky and full of uncertainty. The Season after the Epiphany invites us to journey into the choices and changes that mark the lives of those who follow in God’s ways – and discern together what it means to follow Jesus today. Come and discuss.

Sunday Morning Nursery

CE announces that due to budget constraints, Sunday morning nursery care is discontinued immediately. If you need nursery care for special occasions in the church, please contact the church office so prior arrangements can be made. If the budget allows in the future, the Sunday morning nursery care may be reinstated.

From Margie Kutz:

I have been overwhelmed with all of the prayers, calls, and good thoughts I have received from my Silver Spring family during my recovery from 2 hip surgeries and dealing with my ongoing issues with neuropathy. It is such a blessing to be a member of Silver Spring Church. Thank you to everyone!
