Catena – A New Approach
To Multi-Vendor Interoperability

Chris Lennon

Office of the CTO
Director, Standards Strategy
Ross Video
The shift to cloud and hybrid (cloud and on-prem) production is undeniable, but in some ways, multi-vendor and multi-platform interoperability was a bit of an afterthought.

However, this can be tackled in an open and standardized way to ensure it can fit together in the most efficient, scalable, and automated ways possible.

Catena is an open-standards and open-source solution to this challenge. The presentation will dive into how this promises to revolutionize interoperability.

Chris is responsible for Ross’ activities in standards and trade organizations, as well as its global thought leadership program.

Chris has held a variety of leadership positions in the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), including Standards Director, Chair of the Rocky Mountain Section, and Chair of multiple Technology Committees.

He is a SMPTE Fellow and recipient of SMPTE’s prestigious 2008 Citation. He also has served in a variety of roles, including currently as Western US Governor, and Secretary/Treasurer of the SMPTE Rocky Mountain Section

Ross powers live video productions for billions of global viewers daily with the industry’s widest range of high impact, high efficiency solutions and services.

Ross provides solutions for news, weather and sports broadcasts, engaging content for sports stadium screens, entertainment shows and rock concerts, educational institutions, legislative assemblies, corporate presentations and inspiring content for houses of worship.
