Hymn Festival with David Cherwien

Friday, 11/11 at 7:30 pm

Join us in the sanctuary as world renowned organist and improvisor David Cherwien presents a hymn festival. You will hear David improvise on many well-known hymns, as well as some less familiar ones. Our

own Chancel Choir will participate, but we also need singers in the congregation, please invite your friends and family to come join us!

David is also hosting a hymn playing/improvising workshop on Saturday, November 12, at 9:30 am in the sanctuary.


BASIC Dinner & Fundraiser

Friday, 11/11 at 6 pm

For years our church’s participation in the Boulder Area Sanctuary Coalition has focused on Sanctuary for Ingrid Encalada Latorre. Now granted a deportation reprieve, Ingrid lives in the community and the Coalition’s mission now includes advocating for all Boulder area immigrants. BASIC (Boulder Area Sanctuary and Immigration Coalition), the organization’s new name, invites you to its First Annual “Dinner with BASIC”. Pre/K Sunday School: We will continue to explore the theme

“Thank You God”.

Elementary & Youth Sunday School: We will look at the scripture

for the first Sunday of December and determine what we would like

to present to the congregation.

Youth Sunday School: Youth will gather in the Grace Gallery for fellowship and Sunday School with Julia Wirth and Bill Forbes.

Mission Partner Fair this Sunday

After a hiatus during COVID, the Mission Fair is returning this Sunday during coffee hour in Plymouth Hall! Stop by booths featuring programs and advocacy efforts that are supported through our Benevolence Funds. This is your chance to meet community partners and hear first-hand about the impactful services they provide. The fair is hosted by the Board of Missions and Christian Social Action. Memorial Service for Joyce Smith

Sunday, November 13 at 1:30 pm

We offer our deepest sympathy for the family of Joyce Smith, who died on September 20, 2022. Joyce was a faithful member of First Congregational Church for 60 years. A Memorial Service in thanksgiving to God and in celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, November 13, at 1:30 pm in the Sanctuary as we gently place Joyce in God’s eternal care.

2022 Fall Congregational Meeting

Lights of December Parade Sign Up

Saturday, 12/3, 4:15-8:00 pm

Our FCC float will once again be in Boulder’s Lights of December Parade and we invite you all to join us. We are “rebranding” our float this year with the theme: We take PRIDE in Christmas! We will keep our traditional Nativity but add lots of rainbow colors and a rainbow star above the creche. Come and help us show Boulder that First Congregational Church is faithful in all seasons to our Open and Affirming covenant! A potluck starts at 4:15; we get into costumes and lights starting at 5:15 and we meet up with our float at 6pm. While this is traditionally a family event, ALL are welcome to join us! Sign-Up Here!

Share-A-Gift Donation Collection

Today through 12/11

Share-A-Gift gratefully accepts donations of new toys, but we also encourage and accept gently used toys, books, bikes, games and puzzles, as well as gifts for older children (12-14). Share-A-Gift allows children to meaningful participate in gift-giving by sharing their own toys and books with families who will appreciate getting them. A collection box is set up in the Link. See the attachment for further information.
