Indoor Masks Required in Most Businesses and Public Settings
All individuals (age 2 and older) regardless of vaccination status must wear face coverings when indoors in public settings and businesses, per a San Mateo County Health Order dated August 2, 2021.
Vaccine Boosters and Third Shots
As federal and state authorities approve new vaccination protocols for immunocompromised patients, County Health recommends residents consult with their health care provider about additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The primary pathway for immunocompromised patients to receive additional doses of vaccine is through their primary care provider.
County Health is exploring how immunocompromised residents may access County Health's community clinics in the future. County Health is reaching out to residents for whom it is the primary care provider (such as patients of San Mateo Medical Center) and who appear to meet the eligibility criteria.
Boosters are not administered at community-based vaccine clinics at this time.
The County will remobilize mass vaccination capacity in the coming weeks as eligibility expands for third doses in September.
For those seeking a first or second shot, vaccination is available everywhere in San Mateo County. See the calendar of County-sponsored and -supported clinics or go to MyTurn or walk or drive to one of the 60 pharmacies offering shots.
Homebounds resident may contact MyTurn online or by calling (833) 422-4255 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) for assistance. |

Digital Vaccine Record
Access and keep a digital copy of your Covid-19 vaccine record on your phone.
Enter your name, date of birth, phone/email associated with your vaccine record, and that's it.
If participants discover an error in their vaccine record, they should contact the provider where they received the vaccine to make the correction. Those vaccinated at County-operated clinics who discover an error should email covidvax@smcgov.org. |

Know Your Zone
Officials and first responders are promoting the “Know Your Zone" campaign which asks residents to enter their address into the Zonehaven platform to identify the zone in which they live.
The zone code will be used in alerts when evacuations are necessary due to emergencies like last August’s CZU Lightning Complex fire. Make sure you are signed up for SMC Alerts to stay informed. |
