Please watch your mail for a letter from the Town's Fire Department, Central County Fire, requesting you to schedule your property vegetation management inspection. Fire department personnel will look at your property to ensure that it meets minimum requirements for wildland fire safety, as well as give pointers on preventing ember intrusion and fire entering your home if there were a large wildfire in our area.

If you receive a letter in the mail, the inspection is required for your property. Please contact Central County Fire Department to schedule an appointment or if you prefer to have them come by at any time inspectors are in the area, you may select that option as well by going to CCFD website or calling the front office at (650) 558-7600.

Wildlife In Need?
If you find a wild animal that may appear orphaned, injured or in distress, please call us at 650-340-7022 for guidance and assistance. If it’s safe to do so, you can also bring the animal directly to us at our Center for Compassion located at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame 11 am to 6 pm every day. If you find a wild animal in need of care after hours and it’s safe to transport, please bring the animal to After Hours Receiving at the Coyote Point shelter, located at 12 Airport Blvd in San Mateo. Do not give any food, water or medicine – that often does more harm than good. Do not attempt to remove fishing line or something that may be caught or tangled around the animal.

Housing Hillsborough
Town of Hillsborough Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Survey
Closes Tomorrow, April 29

The Town of Hillsborough is in the process of updating its Housing Element, a chapter of the General Plan that outlines the plans and policies the community has in place to ensure we comply with state statutes.

A key tool in meeting Hillsborough’s RHNA will likely be Accessory Dwelling Units and Junior Accessory Dwelling Units. Also referred to as mother-in-law suites, granny flats, second units, and accessory apartments, these small units on single-family lots can help to increase housing options in the community with minimal impact on Hillsborough’s character.

San Mateo County Updates
COVID-19 Updates
Residents 50 and over and those who are immunocompromised are now eligible for a second COVID-19 booster, four months after their first booster.

The best option for a second booster is a primary health care provider or a pharmacy. Eligible residents can also book an appointment through the state’s MyTurn.

County Health’s community clinics will provide boosters for walk-ins now but recommend booking an appointment after April 6 to avoid long waits.
