"We all may be different kinds of fish, but in this class we swim together" may be a motto for PKA on the Canal Street campus, but it is an important reminder for all of us in the CBS community. With the challenges of the previous school year with new ways of teaching and learning because of COVID-19, the Christian Brothers School community got a fresh start for 2021-2022 only to be challenged once again, this time by Hurricane Ida. Fortunately, our campuses received only moderate damages, and we were able to re-open September 13 to welcome our students back for in-person learning. With the pandemic and then a hurricane, PKA reminds us that we are all in this together. |

Seventh Graders Receive Pins at Re-Scheduled Masses |
|
Seventh graders on both campuses received their pins, marking their “leadership” year for the 2021-2022 school year. The Pin Masses had to be re-scheduled because of Hurricane Ida, but the boys had their Pin Mass September 30 at City Park, while the 7th grade girls received their pins at Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church on October 1. One of the customs at CBS Pin Masses is to have a 7th grade parent who is a graduate of CBS speak at the Mass. At City Park’s Pin Mass, Nathan Abercrombie (1987) had the honors, while Clay Cambre (1985) addressed 7th grade girls at the Canal Street Pin Mass. |
