This fall, GPB Education added two new members to our Outreach Team, Dr. Kiawana Kennedy and Dr. Kimberly Stokes. |

Dr. Kiawana Kennedy, GPB Education Outreach Specialist for Central Georgia Dr. Kiawana Kennedy is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and has proudly served the education communities of metro Atlanta and surrounding areas for more than 30 years. Dr. Kennedy’s accomplishments include a B.S. in Middle Grades Education from West Georgia College and a specialist master's degree in administration and supervision from State University of West Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 where she earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Dr. Kennedy has worked to ensure quality learning for all through her roles as elementary and middle school teacher, assistant principal at the middle school level, principal at multiple levels, and district administration positions including Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent. |
Dr. Kimberly Stokes, GPB Education Outreach Specialist for South Georgia Dr. Kim Stokes is a 17-year educator and a long-time resident of the Columbus, Georgia, area. Her career began as a K-12 middle grade social studies teacher in Muscogee County and Harris County. In 2010, Dr. Stokes transitioned to educational technology, working as a technology coach in two different school districts. She joined the Center of Online Learning at Columbus State University in 2015 as an Instructional Designer and Training Specialist where she assisted faculty with learning management systems and online course design. Dr. Stokes holds a B.A. in History, M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education, Ed.S. in Social Studies Education, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Leadership, all from Columbus State University. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her three dogs, Rupert, Oscar, and Ellie. |
Tracey Wiley, GPB Education Outreach Manager for North Georgia Tracey Wiley serves as the manager for GPB’s statewide education outreach team and the dedicated specialist for north Georgia, building content and providing support and training for GPB Education's array of free digital resources. Tracey has served as an educator for 30 years, teaching and consulting at various schools and organizations throughout metro Atlanta and abroad, including Georgia State University, the Dunwoody Nature Center, the Georgia Aquarium, and Zoo Atlanta. Tracey is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in biology and concentration in photojournalism. She received her master’s degree in policy from the University of Delaware. |
Bethanie Boswell, GPB Education Technology Specialist Bethanie serves as an education technology specialist at GPB. Through the GPB Education Mobile VR Lab Initiative, she brings virtual reality (VR) instruction to classrooms across Georgia, allowing students to engage with events, places, ideas, and people in an immersive format that brings the content to life. Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties, Bethanie taught high school literature and composition, co-taught middle grades English/Language Arts, and supported differentiated instruction in all subject content areas. She also taught 8th grade Spanish for four years. Bethanie is a graduate of Smith College with a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies. She received her Master’s in Education in e-Learning from Trident University International. |
