Global Village on the Move 2022

Join peers and mentors from around the world for an intensive leadership experience designed exclusively for FLEX, YES, and YEAR alumni. Participate in a virtual global community and consulting project as well as a leadership experience in North Macedonia or Kyrgyzstan.

What: Training on professional and personal marketing

When: March 28 @ 10 AM ET

Who: Aneta Goranovic is a Marketing Director for the Serbian newspaper Danas who has years of experience as a creative producer for NGOs, educational youth theater programs, and the award-winning EXIT music festival.
Two alumni will travel to Washington, D.C. to mentor students during the March Civic Education Week. The weeklong event, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State, offers 100 exchange students a closer look at how American civil society functions. Students participate in workshops about First Amendment rights, grassroots volunteer efforts, foreign policy, and more.
The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program is a United States Department of State-sponsored program for secondary school students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine. The program provides merit-based scholarships for students to travel to the United States, live with a host family, and attend a U.S. high school for a full academic year. Learn more at
