The Annual CFA Society Saskatchewan (Virtual) Dinner is our premier event of the year. Bringing together professionals from the local financial management and business community.
Join us virtually on Thursday 31 March when we will host best-selling author and acclaimed economist John A. List.
Author of the 2022 best-selling book, “The Voltage Effect: How to Make Good Ideas Great and Great Ideas Scale”, Professor List will consider the question:
“Why do some great ideas make it big while others fail to take off?”
Professor List will discuss how scalable ideas share a common set of attributes, while any number of variables can doom an unscalable idea. Drawing on his original research, philanthropic efforts, and time spent working within the tech sector, Professor List will offer fascinating examples from the realms of business, policymaking, education, and public health. He will also identify the vital signs that a scalable idea must possess, plus offer proven strategies for avoiding voltage drops and engineering voltage gains.
To date, his fieldwork in behavioral economics has influenced how policy-makers address social issues. Leading him to advise governments and to work with some of the world’s most innovative companies, including: Lyft, Uber, Facebook, Google, Tinder, and Walmart.
We are also excited to have Frances Donald, Chief Economist at Manulife Investment Management, moderate our event. Ms. Frances will share her global economic insights prior to Professor List's presentation. In these volatile times, her views of the world are sure to be informative and interesting.
To celebrate our 30th annual event, the first 50 people to register will receive a free copy of John List's latest book The Voltage Effect.
