- Our brick-and-mortar store has reopened. Shop hours are currently 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays. Customers can still request curbside delivery, shop online, call 804-746-0590 ext. 343 or email gsshop@comgirlscouts.org.

- GSCV will begin reviewing and approving requests by troops for limited day trips, overnight trips (Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors only) and travel outside normal meeting locations.
- Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp continues to be available on a limited basis for troops that choose to meet in person. Gatherings can now be scheduled for up to eight hours for groups no larger than 250 people (including girls, volunteers and family members); groups of 150 or fewer are preferred.

Make Bridging Season Easy! Get your Bridging Kits! |
|
Bridging is when girls cross from one Girl Scout level to another (Daisy to Brownie; Brownie to Junior; and so on). It is a time to celebrate accomplishments and plan for achievements to come. Girls automatically change levels when they change grades, but a bridging ceremony is a time to acknowledge the girls’ experiences.
After the girls in your troop have completed the requirements to earn their bridging awards, they are ready to bridge to the next level. Individual bridging awards can be purchased in our Girl Scout Shop, but there is also another option. Bridging Kits are available for each level. The Kits include: · Bridging Award · Bridging Certificate · Membership Star & Disc · Bridging Pencil · Bridging Patch · Brownie Wings (in the Junior & Cadette kits)
The Kits range in price from $8.00 to $9.50, depending on the level. Each Bridging Kit is for an individual girl. To order Kits for your troop, you can shop online, email gsshop@comgirlscouts.org, or call (804)746-0590 ext. 343. You can also come into the Shop at 4900 Augusta Ave., Richmond, VA 23230, Monday-Thursday from 10am-5:30pm, Friday from 8:30am-12:30pm, or Saturday from 9am-noon. The Shop is now open without reservations, and Bridging Kits for all levels are available.

Awesome incentives for the early birds! |
|
Early bird renewal continues through May 30, and we're hoping all of our members renew for the membership year that starts Oct. 1, 2021. We think you'll like the early bird incentives detailed below.
Incentives available for the entire early bird period (April 19-May 30): - Each girl receives an early bird patch featuring a "Climb With Courage" koala.
- Invitation to a fall event that is only open to members who renew during early bird. Tickets to the event will be at a reduced rate (not more than $5).
- 10% discount at our council's shop for each girl who renews (one-time use; expires Sept. 30).
- 10% discount at our council's shop for each leader who renews (maximum of two coupons per troop; one-time use; expires Sept. 30).
- Each service unit will receive $1.25 for each girl who renews during early bird.
Additional timed incentives throughout early bird renewal: - Troops who renew 90% of girls and two adults will be entered in a drawing for prizes each Friday during early bird. Prizes get progressively larger and those who qualify for previous weeks are still in the drawing for the next week. Girl Scout Troop 281 (Prince George/Sussex Service Unit) was selected this week and will receive a canoeing experience at Pamunkey Ridge.
- The three service units with the highest percentage of girls renewed will be featured in social media posts each Friday of early bird. This week's shout-outs go to South of the James for achieving 133% of its early bird goal, King George with 106% and Monacan Creek with 99%. Way to go!

Longtime volunteers and lifetime membership |
|
Did you know that current Girl Scout volunteers with 10 or more years of service can purchase lifetime membership for $200? That’s 50% off the regular rate!
Plus, $25 of your membership cost will fund a year of Girl Scouting for a girl in an underserved community in your area — and you get all the benefits of lifetime membership. |

Camp sessions are filling fast, so register now! |
|
- resident camp
- leadership opportunities for older girls
- day camp
- family camp and troop camping
- virtual camp
Look over the options and be sure to review the new protocols on page 4 because camp in 2021 comes with COVID-19 conditions. This summer will be a bit different, but the differences are intended to allow us to gather in person (not take away from the overall camp experience). Girls will find joy in the outdoors as we start new Girl Scout camp traditions and re-imagine some of our timeless customs. |

New T-shirts in the Shop! |
|
Fun new t-shirts are now available in the Girl Scout shop! For only $23, you can show you are a proud member of the Girl Scouts. T-shirts come in sizes ranging from small to 3X.
