Hello everyone! Happy National Adoption Month in November! I want to highlight our event that is celebrating National Adoption Month on Tuesday, November 30th. We are having a live virtual adoptee panel who will share their lived experiences and discuss topics such as grief and loss, identity formation, and core adoption issues. I hope you can join in and listen to the diverse adoptee voices that will be featured! Also, don’t forget to become part of the Northcentral region group on Facebook. Join other siblings of adoption or guardianship families for a live, video group session to socially connect and discuss topics related to challenges that arise in these family dynamics. This support group will be facilitated by Chelsey Zommers and Christy Timm, Adoption & Permanency Support Specialists from our Wausau and Milwaukee offices. The group size will be limited, so please pre-register via Eventbrite. This group will take place approximately once every six weeks on a Tuesday evening at 7 pm. Join as often as you would like.
Please note, only one youth per family is allowed.

November is National Adoption Month, and Wisconsin Adoption & Permanency Support believes one of the best ways we can all recognize this month is by spending time listening to those who have been adopted. Join us for an evening forum with a panel of adult adopted persons who have agreed to share from their experiences. Some of the topics covered may include: grief and loss, identity formation, the "core adoption issues", transracial and international adoption, search and reunion, teenage years, and openness in adoption. There will be an opportunity for attendees to send questions in during the live panel. We hope you will join us to listen and learn together! |

Bundle up and get outside! WISAPSP is hosting a tubing event for adoptive and guardianship families at Sylvan Park in Wausau. Meet me by the shelter to grab your tickets before heading up the hill to tube. Dress for the weather as you do wait outside in line before going down the hill. CHILDREN MUST BE AT LEAST 42" TALL TO ATTEND. The staff do measure the kids before going down, so please make sure they meet this height requirement. You will not be able to go down with two people on a tube either. Please visit the Sylvan Hill Park website for more information.
You are free to stay and tube as long as you would like once you get your tickets. Please come as close to 1:30pm as possible as the lines can get extremely long with the hill being open to the public as well. Each family will also receive a goody bag!
