In Loving Memory of Martin Paley

Martin Paley, a long-time and beloved Kala board member and later advisory council member died on September 12, 2024 at the age of 94. His family, friends, colleagues and community celebrated "a life well-lived" on October 16th in Berkeley. His accomplishments are far too many to mention here, but at Kala we are forever grateful for his board service and expertise in helping Kala define and then practice and live our values. Martin was Executive Director of the San Francisco Foundation (SFF) for 13 years starting in 1974 and his knowledge and leadership in working across public and private sectors, championing health & human services and arts & culture was an inspiration to Kala. We were one of over a dozen community boards and national committees that he served on after his tenure at SFF. We will miss you Martin! Our love goes out to all of Martin's wonderful family and friends.
