Greetings!

We continue our special newsletter series focusing on one profession at a time. Last issue was medical. Today, we're focused on Customer Service.

I don't have to tell you that a customer service agent's representation of a company can keep or lose a customer. Many businesses have learned this the hard way, and now most companies work hard to recruit, train, and keep good agents.
Below are companies in need of such "agents". (They're not always called by that word.) Also listed are a few recent Customer Service jobs. Remote customer service companies have actually been around since the 1990s, but the industry has grown over the past couple of decades.

What is new, however, is Customer Service gig work. That is, customer service agents on demand. I've found a few of these opportunities and posted them, too. Not everyone wants a full-time commitment, so gig work might be a better option.

Customer service, as a profession, is a bit more complicated that it appears. I've shared an article which helps explain some important differences between working for an outsourcing company or working in-house. I'll be updating it after I learn how on-demand customer service operates.
