Rochester, NY–June 23, 2022–It's the final three days of the 9-day CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival 19th edition. This year's festival will deliver 325 shows June at 19 diverse indoor and outdoor venues in downtown Rochester NY. All venues are within walking distance of each other.
More than 1750 musicians are coming from around the world to play. A record 130 shows are free this year including the entire headliner series. Jam sessions close out the festival nightly at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, where you never know who will show up to play. Jazz Workshops provide a unique opportunity for music students of all ages to learn from visiting artists performing at the festival. |

Booker T.’s Stax Revue is a presentation of Booker’s hits with the MGs, such as “Green Onions,” “Hang ‘Em High” and “Time is Tight” and of the classics recorded on Stax Records by legendary artists such as “Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding, “When Something is Wrong with my Baby” by Sam and Dave and “Gee Whiz” by Carla Thomas. The Stax Revue features a ten-piece big band with three lead vocalists, a three-piece horn section and Booker’s usual rhythm section and delivers a high energy experience curated to take the audience on a journey through Booker’s eyes. In accordance with Monroe County public health official recommendations and the University of Rochester for Kilbourn Hall, Hatch Hall, Max of Eastman Place, and Ray Wright Room 120, face masks are optional. Proof of vaccination is not required. Please see the full guidelines here.
