PREPARING FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
Greetings New and Returning STEM Families!
We hope you are all having an amazing summer. While we still have about a month before school starts, I wanted to take a quick moment to welcome our new families who will be joining us this coming school year and welcome back our returning families.

Members of the STEM Leadership and Administration Teams have been hard at work this summer working on several initiatives to ensure that we start off this school year on the right track. We began gearing up for a successful school year months ago by meeting with our stakeholder groups and reviewing data from this past school year.

The team identified new focus areas and started making initial plans back in April and kicked it into high gear in May and June by laying out the framework for upcoming revisions and changes. Over the next month, the team will be working together to prepare for the return of our most important individuals, our students and staff.

Each week leading up to the start of school, our communications team will be sharing out important information with our families via our Weekly Parent Newsletter. Each newsletter will be sharing specific information to help prepare for the start of school so please read through these newsletters carefully and thoroughly as there is a lot of very important information. We’ve heard from families over the years that onboarding to a new school can be challenging and we want to do our best to improve that experience.

If you have questions, please email communications@stemk12.org so that we can get you to the right person. Please keep in mind that our staff is still on summer break and will respond back periodically.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all in August!

STEMk12.org
STEMk12.org is your main source of information for all things STEM School Highlands Ranch.

While we use social media to share out day-to-day updates about what is happening inside the building and to share our quick updates about event changes, our website will always be where we post and house all of our information.

Using the menu bar at the top, you can find more information about STEM, Enrollment, Student Support Services, The STEM Experience (Athletics, Enrichment and SpartMart), Our Calendars and more ways to Contact Us.
Parents also have a specific page on our site to find important information on how to Get Informed, Get Connected and Get Involved.

Get Informed: Informed families are empowered families. We want to make it as easy as possible for families to access all of the information needed to help their students have the best experience possible. Families can find more information about the Student/Parent Handbook, Transportation Management Plan/Driveline, Attendance Information (Guidelines, Absence, etc.), Lunch Program, Technology Support, Health Services and more.

Get Connected: We want to hear from our families. The communication flow between STEM and our families includes our social media channels, weekly newsletters and our Communications Pathways process. Families can find more information about our Communications Pathways, our Weekly Newsletters and our Social Media Channels.

Get Involved: Getting involved at STEM is easy. There are a variety of ways that include volunteering, the School Accountability Committee (SAC), Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Board of Directors and more. Families can find out more information on Volunteering at STEM, the School Accountability Committee (SAC), Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and our STEM Board of Directors.
WEEKLY NEWSLETTERS
Each Friday we send out three newsletters to our various stakeholder groups (parents/community, students and staff). Parents are automatically signed up for our newsletter using the information provided in Infinite Campus. People can also sign-up for the newsletter using our sign-up form and can find archives via the Get Connected page on the Parent Page. Newsletters are sent through Constant Contact.

Since we are a K-12 school, there is a lot of information that gets shared with our community each week. In order to be as efficient as possible with our limited resources, we break up the newsletter into specific sections to organize the information as best as we can for our families.
