Darshana - A Glimpse into the Hindu Civilization
Last weekend, I was invited by a STEM staff member (Vinaya Raigaonkar) to attend an Indian cultural event called "Darshana- A Glimpse into the Hindu Civilization." For years, I have attempted to understand this ancient and complex culture. French economist Thomas Piketty wrote extensively about how the British attempted to create a system to better understand the subcontinent and failed. It is far too complex rooted in thousands of years of traditions.

The event last week was almost three years of curation to design around twenty posters to capture deep cultural roots around topics such as traditions, mathematics, architecture, yoga and more. In about one hour, a visitor could better understand the depth and breadth of Indian history and culture. Click here to read more
Call for Parent Candidates for STEM’s BOD Annual Elections
The annual election to select one parent board of directors member will be held during the week of May 9. Any parent with at least one student at STEM School Highlands Ranch next school year (August 2022 to May 2023) is eligible to run for this three-year position. If you want to be a candidate, which requires a monthly volunteer commitment of about 15 to 20 hours plus about two charter school board and operations training, please send a short email with a 350-word maximum candidate statement plus your best public contact information, to Rudy Lukez (rudy.lukez@stemk12.org) by 5 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2022.

As a reminder, the nine-member Board of Directors includes three parent-elected members that each serve a staggered three-year term. Terms begin in late May.  Click here to read more
Mark your calendars for #STEMShares, May 2-7
We want to let you know that we will again focus our efforts on #STEMShares for the week of May 2-7 to commemorate May 7. Since this day will be on a Saturday (no school for students and staff), we wanted to share the following information with you.

We want to invite our entire community to participate in #STEMShares by doing Acts of Kindness, Acts of Service and Acts of Donation. This could include donating to a charity or non-profit organization, volunteering, helping a family member, reaching out to a friend you haven't connected with in a while, or anything else you can think of to provide a moment of connection with others. Click here to read more
