Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
I hope you had a relaxing and restorative break with your friends and family. STEM has at least three staff members who live in close proximity to the Marshall Fire and it is with great relief they are safe and spared from the devastation. Our hearts go out to families who suffered the loss of their homes as well as the tragedy of the loss of life.

STEM has been closely monitoring the latest updates for the Omnicron variant. Governor Polis issued a public health announcement last week that was shared with the STEM administration and STEM board outlining the following:
  • Reduced quarantine or COVID positive student(s) to five days with continued mask wearing for an additional five days when back at school.
  • If the student does not want to wear a mask in school after the five-day isolation period, they will need to remain in quarantine for an additional five days and access their learning remotely.
  • Click here to access the updated CDC guidelines.

I want to extend a big Thank You to School Nurse Mallory Jimenez, RN, for her daily updates, advising parents of COVID-positive students, keeping administration informed and remaining responsive over our Winter Break.
