Today we honor the life and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the most inspiring and influential civil rights leaders. One of the questions Dr. King asked us to reflect on was, "What are you doing for others?" From the smallest acts of everyday kindness like comforting a friend having a bad day; to dedicating your life to serving your community as a priest, a teacher or a health care worker - service brings us together with love and strengthens our resolve to tackle challenges like racism.

In our Christian faith we stand by the principle of service to others. Service is the embodiment of Christian love towards others.

Help us spread the word! VOTE for Chanco in Virginia Living's 2023 Best Summer Camp now through January 31st.

Aside from offering offering outstanding camp programs for kids and teens ages 8-16 years old, Camp Chanco provides kids a place for having fun, making friends, trying new things and enjoying God's creation. From 2014-2020 Chanco was recognized by being voted number one "Best Summer Camp" by Virginia Living Magazine. Help us come out on top this year! Spread the word and VOTE!

We Are Hiring Summer Staff for Camp

If you, or someone you know, loves the outdoors, Jesus and working with kids we encourage you to apply for one of many positions open for summer camp! All positions include housing, meals and training.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your resume, make new friends and help make memories for kids that will last a lifetime.

Positions Available Include:

Activities Director, Kitchen Staff, Counselors, Ropes Instructor, Lifeguards, Nature Instructor, Arts and Crafts Instructors, Photographer, Sailing Instructors, Nurse, Chaplin, Operations Director, Aquatics Director

Spring Work Weekend

March 31–April 2

Cost: Free (with your elbow grease)

It's hard to believe that summer camp is rapidly approaching and that means it's time to spruce things up at Camp Chanco! We need you to mark your calendars and sign up to give back to Chanco by coming out ready to roll up your sleeves in the company of friends and help us get ready for the summer.

There is something for everyone! Come for the whole weekend and enjoy social time together or just come for an afternoon. Come on your own or come as a family, all are welcome. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We offer free overnight accommodations in the chalets, so register early to reserve your spot! Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner plus Sunday breakfast are provided.

Some Projects Include:

Prayer garden clean-up, Pressure wash pool, Painting, Indoor spring cleaning, Beach clean-up, Assemble camper welcome packets
