Summer Camps

We are approaching the middle of the camp season! Kids are having a blast and beating the scorching heat playing in the pool, swimming in the James River, zipping through the trees and dining in the cool a/c with old and new friends! See for yourself and visit our Camp Photos page.

We still have some camps this season with open spots. Here are a couple of camps you might want to check out, but call us with questions about any of the sessions. There are spaces still available for Session 4, 5, Mariners 2.

Family Camp

This session offers campers of all ages a chance to enjoy camp together. It includes many favorite traditional activities, and you choose how to spend your day! Stay in chalets or pay a bit more and stay in retreat lodges. This session is the perfect opportunity to introduce a new camper or reunite with camp friends. It is an incredible, affordable family vacation!

Change for Chanco

For more than a decade, campers have been saving their change toward an exciting addition to Chanco’s camp programs. Many Camp Chanco program wishes have been made a reality thanks to Change for Chanco youth fundraising. New archery equipment, our rock-climbing wall, our Superman Swing high ropes element, paddle boards, and an arts and crafts pavilion are some of the most recent exciting additions made possible by our campers.

We are thrilled about our 2023–2024 Change for Chanco project and hope we can count on your support. This year's program supports the Nature Program's much-needed new equipment.

Thank you to all the families and campers supporting us by bringing in your change when you check in for camp! Can't wait to see you.

Camp Diary 2023

Welcome back to the latest edition of our Instagram Highlight Camp Diary 2023! We are thrilled to share a glimpse into the day of a camper at Chanco. Our campers are having a blast, and we're capturing the happiness as we showcase our amazing kids sharing what they love most about being at camp.

We hope you enjoy watching these highlights as much as we enjoy capturing them. Follow our Instagram account @Chanco.on.the.James to stay updated. Don't forget to like, comment, and share your thoughts to show your support for our incredible camp community!
