Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways that YOU can connect to the ministry here at Walcamp. When you volunteer for an event or service project it means that we get to share in the joy and growth of God's kingdom together.

AGAPE CAMP RETREAT: This month, we are looking for servants to share in the joy of partnering with our Agape ministry. This weekend in December joins our Walcamp team together with dedicated volunteers to assist these campers and their unique needs. Click HERE to fill out our 3 question volunteer form.

We are updating our volunteer list and contact information. Please email Angie with your name, home address, phone, and the area you are most interested to volunteer in. Praise God for all the amazing people who volunteer.

Get inspired with this month's story.

As the season changes from summer to fall, it is a visual reminder of the wonder of God's creation. We may all be familiar with the words in Genesis chapter 1 verse 1, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth," but do we take the time to consider this as we pass through each days tasks? God's hand formed everything into existence. His plan for each living thing is greater than we can imagine. Perhaps you can take some time out of your busy schedule to enjoy the beauty of the changing season and ask God to reveal His plan for you today.

Staff Spotlight

The Summer Camp Staff

The summer we had another amazing group of Young Adults join with our Programming Staff. These outstanding young men and women brought joy and Jesus' love to our day and overnight campers throughout the summer. Many thanks to out team: Black Widow, Fletcher, Hatchet, Jedi, Lilium, Snow, Spirit, Wheelie, and Strawberry.

Summer Wrap-Up & Fall Kick-Off

With Your Support, We Shared Jesus' Love With Over 240 Kids

Both of our summer programs were a huge success this season. Our summer staff did a fantastic job sharing Jesus and the amazing creation we live in! Our Day Camp Program saw growth this year with an average of 40 kids each week attending camp between 8am and 5pm. The students were led to connect with Christ during First Word, group devotions, and prayers all while experiencing the wonders of nature in the lake, on the trails, and even on a few off-site field trips. The Burpee Museum in Rockford was one of the campers favorites.

Our traditional Overnight Camps remain steady. Around 194 campers joined us for an overnight camp. We offered a variety of programs such as Horse Riding Camp, Gamer Camp, and Tree House Camp, and each week brought out a new group of campers of eager to learn and grow.

The Summer Staff deserves a huge thank you for the amazing job they did week in and week out. Our counselors have to be ready for anything and everything from homesick campers to scraped knuckles from gaga ball. They show Jesus’ love to each of their campers and keep smiling through whatever comes their way. Great job, counselors! We love you!

Alumni Corner

At the heart of Walcamp you will find the people that have helped shape it throughout the years. Our beloved alumni are the reason that so many people have found love and joy here at camp. When was the last time you visited camp? Do you keep in touch with counselors and staff from your years spent here? How can we help bring these ideas together and make something happen? If you haven't completed our Alumni Form, please click here.

We would love to see alumni gatherings begin to take place in the upcoming year. If you have ideas, please email Angie or call camp and share with her your thoughts. Follow us on Facebook for updates and opportunities.

We hope to engage in several ZOOM calls this month! Watch your in-box and Facebook for updates.

Our NEW Climbing Wall - Zipline is Ready to Go!

A year in the making, and now it's complete! Generous donors made this new program possible. Several schools and our NID Youth Retreats have already experienced some great teambuilding on this new element. We cannot wait to see how God uses this new element in our ministry!
