Opinion 2021-11
Issued December 10, 2021
It indicates that judges are permitted to teach courses, teach continuing legal education courses, and accept compensation for and reimbursement of expenses for teaching. It also states that judges can accept a request to speak and reimbursement for expenses related to the speaking engagement, but cannot accept compensation for that activity because it would be considered an honorarium under Ohio ethics law.

It indicates a judge can provide a letter of recommendation for an individual as long as it is based on the judge’s personal knowledge of the individual.
