Taking Boys Seriously conference (TBS)
The online TBS conference will take place on 20 October 2021 with contributors, Education Minister Michelle McIlveen, Chair of the Education Authority Barry Mulholland, Mary Curnock Cook, CBE, and Dr. Ken Harland. 
Call for nominations for directors of CSSC to represent member schools
CSSC is seeking to elect a new Council to represent its member schools, for a period of four years. Deadline for nominations is 27 September.
Date for your diary - CSSC's fifth AGM is taking place online on 18 November 2021.
CSSC Award for Excellence in Educational Research 
This award is presented to the Stranmillis University College researcher who demonstrates the potential for their research to have a significant impact on learners or practice in controlled schools. CSSC will share a selection of this research from nominated students. The winner will be announced at the AGM. Read more here.

Climate & Biodiversity Projects – funding available
The Royal Society's Tomorrow's Climate Scientists Programme is open. Grants of up to £3,000 are available to primary or post primary schools to run a STEM investigation project. The Department of Justice is consulting on the draft Regulations to amend the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal Regulations (NI) 2005, closing 5 November 2021. CSSC will submit a response and would like to hear your views. Please email [email protected]  
CSSC consultation response
CSSC responded to the Department of Education’s consultation on the review of statutory admissions criteria and pre-school education session times. The response was informed by the views of nursery Principals and the Principals of primary schools with nursery units.
