Today, my office hosted our 4th successful COVID-19 Booster Vaccine clinic vaccinating over 50 people today bringing our total to 165 vaccinated indviduals. We still have some appointments available for our next clinic on Friday November 12th, please call my community office to make an appointment at (212)-288-4607.

Saturday night daylight savings time will end, do not forget to turn back your clocks one hour!

This Sunday, November 7th we will see the return of the NYC Marathon. Be sure to cheer on the runners along 1st Avenue and 5th Avenue here on the Upper East Side. I have included the full list of street closures for your convenience at the bottom of this email.

On November 9th I will be presenting Governor Kathy Hochul with a Women in Service Award at an event I am hosting with my Co-Chair of the Upper East Side Committee Honoring Women Veterans Howard Teich. This Women’s Veterans Day Tribute event will be hosted at the Women’s Flagstaff and Grove, rediscovered in Central Park in 2019.

This event will be co-hosted by the American Red Cross in Greater New York, The New York City Department of Veteran Services, and the Columbus Citizens Foundation. This is the third annual event since the Women’s Flagstaff and Grove has been rediscovered. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9th, 11:00 AM at the Grove, entry at 69th Street and 5th Avenue.

I want to remind you that our office will be co-hosting with Upper Green Side and City Council Members Ben Kallos and Keith Powers a Paper Shred-a-thon on November 21st from 10am to 2pm across the street from the 92nd St. Green Market on 1st Avenue.

This Week in Review
John Jay Park Sitting Area Reconstruction Ground Breaking
New York City Department of Parks and Recreation held a ground breaking ceremony to kick off the renovation of the John Jay Park sitting area. The renovation will be updating the benches and game tables and update the flower and tree beds to create a more welcoming environment. The newly appointed Commissioner of Parks, Gabrielle Fialkoff spoke at the ground breaking and is pictured above. Additional information on the project can be found by clicking here.
Successful COVID-19 Booster Vaccine Clinic
Today we hosted in our District Community Office the fourth COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic with Pharmacists Rebecca and Ilana from the Drug Mart Pharmacy. We will be hosting another clinic on Friday November 12th, Please call our office at 212-288-4607 to schedule an appointment.
Halloween Fall Festival at Yorkville Community School

The Yorkville Community School Fall Festival was a great success where students of all ages were able to do arts ad crafts, play games, and trick-or-treat with their friends.
COVID-19 Updates
Assembly Member Seawright will be hosting another COVID-19 Booster Vaccine Clinic on Friday November 12 from 9:30am to 3:00pm. The Pfizer and Moderna Booster Vaccines will be available as well as the Moderna Third Dose. The CDC has approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11, and it’s free for everyone. Together we can all do our part to stay healthy and protect ourselves and those around us. Visit www.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov to learn more.

Governor Hochul signed into law a new moratorium on COVID-related residential and commercial evictions, which is in effect until January 15, 2022.

The Open Enrollment Period for health insurance for uninsured New Yorkers has been extended through December 31, 2021. New Yorkers can apply for coverage through NY State of Health or directly through insurers.

Health care workers can text NYFRONTLINE at 741-741 to access 24/7 emotional support services.
Any New Yorker can call the COVID-19 Emotional Support Hotline at 1-844-863-9314 for mental health counseling.

Excelsior Pass provides a free, fast and secure way to present digital proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results.

Free Transportation and In-Home Vaccinations
City residents 65 and older can get free transportation to and from a vaccination appointment. This service is also available for those with disabilities who have no other way to get to a vaccination site.

To schedule free transport by either ambulette or taxi (including wheelchair accessible vehicles), call 877-VAX-4NYC (877-829-4692). If you are younger than 18, you must have your parent or guardian call to book the trip on your behalf.

You can also sign up online for an in-home vaccination or by calling 877-VAX-4NYC (877-829-4692). Anyone 12 and older is eligible for in-home vaccination.
