October Annual Member and Vendor Events |
|
| In 50s-themed style, Choice Partners hosted more than 500 participants/members and 200 vendor exhibitors over a two-day period for the annual Child Nutrition & Product Expo and the annual Vendor Exhibit that was held in person at the Humble Civic Center in October.
According to Trisha Prestigiacomo, assistant director of Choice Partners, it was evident that everyone was excited to get back to in-person shows and exhibits, which have been absent throughout the pandemic.
“Vendors I spoke with after the event had high praises of this year’s event,” Prestigiacomo said. “Food service directors were able to speak one-on-one with vendors about the current supply chain issues and test new products for upcoming menus.” |
|
Approximately 100 students from various area school districts, as well as nutrition teams throughout the Harris County area had the opportunity to taste-test potential food, beverage and cafeteria-related products for their school districts.
“After participants test and rate the numerous products, we get the results back and use them when we make our bids to see what students like and what they did not like. Some of our nutrition directors use this data to know what to purchase for their students,” Prestigiacomo said. |

The day after the Child Nutrition and Product Expo, Choice Partners hosted its annual Vendor Exhibit, where more than 200 members interacted with 89 vendors who showcased booths ranging from facilities to technology to various supplies and services.
“This is the first time we’ve done it back-to-back with our nutrition show, and so we were very excited about that,” said Kristi Nichols, Choice Partners contract manager. “In the past, we’d host the two events a few weeks apart.” |
| |
Nichols said that vendors also expressed how they were glad to be back in person and gave her great feedback.
Jason Rivera from Chamberlin Roofing said this was “probably the best event I’ve been to that is conducive to having meaningful business conversations.”
Jen Klitzke from 4Imprint said the event had “a nice, steady flow of attendees” and that it was “nice to see people in person.”
In addition to the vendor booth engagement, CP offered two one-hour CEU sessions on Job Order Contracting (JOC) presented by Stephen Kendrick, senior manager for facility planning; and Legislative Update presented by Sarah Langlois of KBS Law Group. Both sessions were filled to capacity.
