Water the Elixir of Life!
|
|
Your body is made up of a whopping 60% water; what’s more, the heart and lungs, kidneys, and muscles are comprised of 73%, 83% and 79% water, respectively. Most of us are existing in a constant state of dehydration with implications for our cells, organs, skin and overall health. It’s clear we need strategies to keep ourselves hydrated, particularly during hot weather. |
|
How much water do you need? |
|
Water requirements vary by gender, climate and activity levels. The latest guidelines state that men need about 125 ounces every day and women require about 91 ounces. If you’re very active and live in a hot climate, you may need more. If that sounds like a lot, know that water can be found in many foods. A good way to know if you’re consuming adequate amounts is to check your urine. If it’s a pale yellow color, you’re likely well-hydrated. Bright or dark yellow urine indicates dehydration, so it’s time to drink more; remember, if you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.
Tips for staying hydrated: - Eat high water content foods like watermelon, cucumber, whole fruits and vegetables
- Carry a water bottle with you all day long and take frequent sips
- Limit caffeine and alcohol which are dehydrating
- Drink more before and after exercise or time spent outdoors in hot weather
- Drink more water before and after sauna or massage treatments
- Drink water upon waking in the morning to rehydrate your body after sleep

Did you know? Minerals are also necessary for proper absorption of water. Unfortunately, our soil is depleted of minerals, and you probably aren’t getting everything you need from food. Plus, if you’re using a reverse osmosis system you will need to add minerals back in that it strips out along with the contaminants it removes. Here are a couple of products you can add to your water to ensure the water you're drinking is doing its job: |
|
For symptoms of dehydration, dry skin, bloating and more ReHydration is a homeopathic combination formula for the symptoms associated with fluid imbalances. |
| SpectraMin® helps maintain the body’s mineral and electrolyte balance and expedite the absorption process with an ionic trace mineral complex. |

You will notice positive effects after your first treatment. Results will increase with each treatment.
Red Light Therapy will help rejuvenate your skin at a cellular level, repairing sun damage and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. With regular treatment, red light therapy can improve many skin conditions and is the perfect healing complement to microneedling. |
