Holiday Practice Schedule Changes

Morning practice is cancelled December 24, 2021 but afternoon practice will resume as normal. There will be no Masters practice on December 25, 2021 and January 1, 2022. Practice will resume as normal December 26 to December 30, 2021.

Bill Ross Memorial Masters Swim Meet Recap
On Sunday, November 21 I had the privilege of going to Nassau County Aquatic Center with 11 AGUA Masters swimmers and two members of our community to the Bill Ross Memorial Masters Swim meet. AGUA Masters showed up strong! Our roster for the day was: Rich Bernstein, Michael Brennan, John Chambers, Hayley Cort, Tom Gallagher, Jane Katz, Bob Kolonkowski, Antoine Ledoux, Mathias Altman-Kurosa,, Luca Manfredi, Irene Melchior, Kathleen Sarg, and Sharon Snyder. Our swimmers' ages ranged from 21 to 78 years old.
Highlights from some of the champions:

Mathias Altman-Kurosaki swam in four events and was particularly tough in the 200-meter butterfly.
|
|
|
Rich Bernstein swam in three individual events, he was first place in every single one. He even dropped 11 seconds in the 200-meter freestyle.
|
|
|
Tommy Gallagher and Kathy Sarge had a head-to-head race in the 200-meter individual medley. With a near photo finish, Tommy touched-out Kathy.

Open Water Swim in Cancun, Mexico
How about a trip to Cancun in May? On May 30, 2022, Global Swim Series is holding El Cruce, an open water swim in Cancun, Mexico. Competitors will start the race at a beautiful beach resort in Cancun and swim to Isla de Las Mujeres (an ancient Mayan world heritage site). Check out this video to learn more information.

Coffee With Coaches: Sunday, December 19
Let's get together again. Join me for coffee on Sunday, December 19 after morning practice on the Upper East Side. We will be discussing a team training trip and small changes that pay off in the water. I hope to see you there.

Full capacity and no reservations: We ask for patience and cooperation in maintaining proper spacing at practice, especially now that we are operating at full capacity. Please note that you might not always be in the same lane each practice.
