Fire Pump Installation, Service & Testing

The fire pump is a crucial element to a building’s fire sprinkler system. Fire pumps are typically made with no-corrosive internal parts to avoid clogging due to corrosion. To avoid cavitation and to have a stable system pressure, the fire pumps are designed specifically for adequate water supply purposes, with strict requirements. Fire pumps deliver water to the sprinkler in the event of a fire. NFPA and local fire departments require diesel and electric fire pumps to be run and maintained with accurate maintenance and testing records.

Product Feature
Donaldson Torit Advanced Oil & Coolant Mist Collectors

Why Use Mist Collectors?
Mist collectors filter mist from the air generated by coolants and oils used during wet machining and metalworking processes. AST Canada supplies a broad range of smoke collectors, mist collectors and mist filters to remove submicronic contaminants from your working environment, resulting in better air quality and better floor safety.

Uncollected coolant and machining oil mist can cause slippery floors and collect on machines, walls and ceilings, creating an unpleasant, high-maintenance working environment. AST Canada supplies a full range of Donaldson® Torit® smoke collectors & mist collectors to mitigate the use of oil and coolant in metalworking applications.

In Case You Missed It
Case Study: Ontario Paint & Coatings Manufacturer
An American Fortune 500 paint company contacted us to add a dust collection system for their electrostatic paint line. This leading paint manufacturer, located in Southern Ontario, has roots in Canada dating back to the 19th Century and is among the largest producers of paints and coatings in the world.

The dust collection system needed to be upgraded to comply with the most current fire and explosion protection systems. Having the stakeholders in mind, the system needed to optimize the dust collection in every part of the process while preserving optimal manufacturing temperature inside the plant.

The project goals were:
  • Capture airborne particulate generated in all the processes of the plant
  • Replace obsolete dust collectors
  • Reduce the equipment footprint
  • Preserve plant energy and temperature
  • Comply with the highest safety standards and comply with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Ontario Fire Code, and NFPA
