ABOUT THE DISTRICT
The Neshoba County School District’s vision is for all students to graduate college and career ready with courses, certifications, and external opportunities beyond a high school diploma. Simply stated, to graduate with more than a high school diploma. The district offers multiple pathways to meet students’ needs from dual credit college courses, STEM courses, and national industry certifications.
The district offers a robust reading program and multiple extracurricular activities such as an award-winning Naval ROTC program, an all-superior Big Blue Band, and a variety of arts programs. High level opportunities such as engineering and digital media are offered among many other career and technical courses.
The district has partnered with East Central Community College’s Workforce Development for additional opportunities and also hosts East Central Community College’s Precision Machining class. In Fall 2021, the NCSD opened the Manufacturing and Innovation Center (M&I Center) which houses workforce development and other opportunities for students to use in creative ways. The district invested over $1 million in renovations and equipment for the M&I Center.
The NCSD offers dyslexia therapy at all schools. Gifted education is available for grades 2-6. Four pre-K classes provide developmentally appropriate activities.
Since 2015, the NCSD has completed more than $30 million in new construction and renovations. Currently, there are $12 million in projects scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2023. The district is committed to creating a 21st century learning environment for all students.
The NCSD is a 1:1 district which means each student has access to his/her own computer device. Classrooms are also equipped with interactive displays and other technology to support student achievement.
Each school is staffed with a school nurse. The district employs a social worker and has a partnership with Neshoba General Hospital to host a medical clinic on campus for students and staff.
Neshoba County School District continually strives to give students a well-rounded education with multiple pathways for students to be successful.
