ABOUT THE DISTRICT
Tucked away in the heart of central Mississippi in Attala County lies Kosciusko School District (KSD). We are a progressive pre-K–12 school system with campuses located throughout our city. KSD offers smaller class sizes, strong student support services, diverse curricular, and co-curricular programs. KSD’s extra curricular activities promote the pursuit of academic excellence that are needed to achieve post-secondary goals. The journey of academic excellence for students reflects the belief that all students deserve the access to quality instructional opportunities as evidenced by our afterschool enrichment and remediation program.
Kosciusko School District has over 2,200 students enrolled in five schools: Kosciusko Lower Elementary (grades Pre-K–1st); Kosciusko Middle Elementary (grades 2nd–3rd); Kosciusko Upper Elementary (grades 4th–5th); Kosciusko Junior High School (grades 6th–8th); and Kosciusko Senior High School (grades 9th–12th). An experienced faculty serves a full range of pupils with the student-teacher ratio averaging 16:1.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Kosciusko is a dynamic and charming community centrally located in Mississippi with the famous Natchez Trace in its backyard. It is approximately 70 miles northeast of Jackson and accessible by both I-35 and I-12. The birthplace of Oprah Winfrey, the town has been the recipient of Winfrey’s considerable generosity with the funding of a new Boys and Girls Club facility.
Manufacturing and mechanical services are some of Kosciusko and Attala County’s diverse industries which build upon a strong local retail and tourism base. Businesses enjoy precedent-setting leadership by the Kosciusko Attala Partnership, City of Kosciusko, and Attala County Supervisors, and the vision for current and future growth of the community.
The citizens of Kosciusko, including the city’s businesses and community organizations, all play a significant role in supporting and mentoring its students. Kosciusko's success stems from many charitable organizations which help improve the community, as well as the support and hard work of caring families.
