Let Your Burdens “Fall” Away

This fall semester, take time to reflect on what burdens, barriers, and blockages you should allow to “fall” away. To support you in these efforts, join us for one of the following virtual mental health and wellness workshops to educate, inform, and empower you to make the changes you desire for your success:

For additional resources, go to the Los Rios Center for Mental Health & Wellness webpage.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the CDC other than skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women. Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms. The National Breast Cancer Foundation provides early detection screenings, including mammograms, breast health education and a supportive community. For more information please visit:
National Coming Out Day

National Coming Out Day will be celebrated globally on Monday, October 11. Founded on the idea that increased visibility leads to decreased bias, this day encourages members of the LGBTQ+ community to come out and live their true identity.
We want to acknowledge that there are many reasons that people may not be “out.” Society is not always a safe and welcoming place. Coming out is brave and freeing, but can be difficult.

On October 11, we recognize all those who live their lives openly, proudly, and without shame. We celebrate the LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and administrators who make our college a more inclusive and equitable place.
Financial Aid Assistance

Did you know financial aid applications are open as of October 1st? Join us for hands-on assistance Wednesday, October 13, from noon to 1:30pm in applying/reapplying for financial aid. Do not miss the priority deadline, which is March 2, for the Fall 2022-2023 academic year and apply early by attending this workshop.
