Most In-Person Classes, Services Moved to Online Until January 31
You should have received an email Monday (read here) announcing that, in response to skyrocketing COVID-19 case numbers throughout our region, we have decided to temporarily move most in-person classes, labs, and services online from the start of the semester until Monday, January 31 for all Los Rios colleges (American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake, and Sacramento City). Impossible to Convert Career Education programs that were held in-person during the last year will continue to be held in-person. Other classes such as traditional lecture classes, science labs, arts, and ESL classes will move online for this two-week period.
Our Reopening webpage has been updated with specific information about which programs and services will remain in person, and will continue to be updated in the days and weeks ahead with any changes to this information. |

Mask Guidance
Consistent with evolving recommendations from the public health community, we strongly recommend that all students and employees who are on campus use surgical masks or higher-level respirator N95 or KN95 masks as opposed to cloth masks or any other face covering providing less protection (read the California Department of Public Health’s latest guidance on masks and face coverings). Each college’s operations departments already has an inventory of surgical masks available for those who need them and we are in the process of securing more.
American River College has masks available for those students who are on campus and would like to request one. Masks can be picked up at the Ranch House or the tent located near the Ranch House during these hours: - Until January 31 - Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Starting January 31 - Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Human Trafficking Prevention Month
January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year, millions of men, women, and children are trafficked worldwide – including right here in the United States. It can happen in any community and victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality. Traffickers might use violence, manipulation, or false promises of well-paying jobs or romantic relationships to lure victims into trafficking situations. This month, take the time to educate yourself about human trafficking and to learn to spot the signs of trafficking. Learn more about human trafficking. |

Parking Reminder
Los Rios will not be selling semester or daily parking permits for Spring 2022. This means you will not be ticketed for a lack of a permit during this semester. However, be sure to follow all other parking rules, such as only parking in handicapped spots if you have the appropriately issued placard and no parking in fire or loading zones, as violations of these could result in a ticket. |
