National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time dedicated to spreading hope and vital information to people affected by suicide. We can all help prevent suicide. If you or someone you know is experiencing an emergency, call The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or call 911 immediately.

For suicide prevention information and resources please visit the Suicide Prevention Lifeline website.
September Vaccination Clinic

The American River College main campus will be holding an on-site vaccination clinic on Tuesday, September 14 from 9:30am to 4:00pm for any student or employee who is not yet vaccinated. The clinic will be facilitated by Walgreens as part of the federal vaccination rollout program.

Remember, all employees and all students who access district and college facilities (including in-person classes or student support services) will need to provide evidence of their first vaccine dose by October 1, 2021.

To provide evidence of your vaccination, go to eServices and click the “COVID-19 Vaccination Status” tile on the home page.

Learn more about the student incentives for getting vaccinated, the vaccine requirement, and how to find other available vaccination clinics in your area on our Vaccine webpage.
Religious or Medical Exemption Process for the Los Rios COVID Vaccination Requirement

A process is now in place for students to apply for a medical or religious exemption to the Los Rios vaccination requirement. The detailed process to request an exemption can be found at www.losrios.edu/exemptions, including the specific forms to download, complete, and submit.

Medical and religious exemption requests should be submitted by September 15, 2021, to ensure there is time for review, an interactive process (which may include the submission of additional supporting information), and a determination prior to the October 1 vaccination requirement deadline. You will be notified of the status of your application once the evaluation is complete.
