Upcoming Accreditation Review

American River College will undergo a comprehensive review for reaffirmation of accreditation in 2022. Accreditation is a system of peer-review in which educational institutions are held responsible for a set of requirements and standards to ensure the quality of education provided to students. The College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).

The upcoming review will follow a formative/summative model and will take place in two portions. During the week of February 21st, 2022, a review team appointed by the ACCJC will review the Institutional Self Evaluation Report (ISER) that the college is preparing to show how it meets the accreditation requirements. The review team will compile a set of core inquiries for the college, including areas where the review team needs further information to evaluate the college’s adherence to the accreditation standards.

During the week of October 10th, 2022 there will be a Focused Site Visit for the review team to gather additional information via interviews, data requests, and meetings to discuss the Core Inquiries. The review team will compile a report based on the ISER Review and Focused Site Visit, and this report will be reviewed by the ACCJC to direct the decision on the college’s reaffirmation.

For more information on ARC’s preparation for the upcoming review, please see the college’s accreditation webpagePlease note that any member of the college community or public may submit a third-party comment by completing the Commission’s online third-party comment form. A third-party comment assists the Commission as it considers applications for candidacy, accreditation, or reaffirmation of accreditation.
Vaccination Clinic
The main campus will be holding an on-site vaccination clinic on August 23 and 24 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Student Center Community Rooms for any student or employee who is not yet vaccinated. The clinic will be facilitated by Walgreens as part of the federal vaccination rollout program. Remember, all employees and all students who access district and college facilities (including in-person classes or student support services) will need to provide evidence of their first vaccine dose by October 1, 2021.
To provide evidence of your vaccination, go to Employee Self-Service and click the “COVID-19 Vaccination Status” tile on the home page.

Learn more about the student incentives for getting vaccinated, the vaccine requirement, and how to find other available vaccination clinics in your area on our vaccine webpage.
