Mask Policy Update

Effective Monday, March 14 masks will be strongly recommended, but not required in all district facilities, regardless of vaccination status.

We strongly support any student or employee who chooses to continue wearing masks. We expect that employees and students will continue to wear masks in the following situations:
  • Individuals who are symptomatic and on campus to test
  • Individuals who were recently exposed to a COVID positive case should wear a mask through day 10, even if they have been cleared to return early based either on vaccine/booster status or by testing negative at day 5 or later
  • Individuals who have tested positive for COVID and who have returned early (prior to 10 days) based on receiving a negative COVID test on or after day 5

Anyone with an approved exemption to the district’s COVID-19 vaccination policy must still continue with the weekly testing protocols laid out in their agreed-upon accommodation. Those accommodations will be adjusted to reflect the change to mask policies.
New Contact Tracing Protocols

On Monday, March 14, we are introducing a new process for reporting positive COVID cases for people who were on a Los Rios campus or facility within 14 days of their initial positive test collection date.

Any student, employee, volunteer, or contractor who was on campus within 14 days of their positive test collection date will be directed to the new online COVID-19 Reporting Form (Appendix C), which collects information about the person's vaccination status, symptoms, and whereabouts on campus. After they submit the online form, it is routed to the appropriate person for contact tracing.

Additionally, any student, employee, volunteer, or contractor who has been exposed to COVID (either potentially or via close contact) can use the new Interactive COVID Decision Chart to find out how long they should isolate and what their next steps are. You can find both forms at losrios.edu/reportCOVID.

Please email any questions regarding this new reporting process to [email protected].
Hold Space Event March 14

Safe spaces are spaces reserved for individuals to come together and discuss their experiences in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. ARC would like to "Hold Space" for our campus community members impacted by racism. The event will be held on Monday, March 14, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Zoom. Our goal is to support each person in working through their unique situations, circumstances, and emotions.

Accreditation Update

ARC continues to move forward with reaffirmation of accreditation. The college has received a set of Core Inquiries from our Institutional Self Evaluation Report (ISER) Review Team. Core Inquiries highlight areas, standards, and/or policies that require clarification or expansion, additional information requests, and/or observation and interview requests for the Focused Site Visit scheduled for the week of October 10. To see the Core Inquiries Report - and for more information on the process - visit the Accreditation website.
