CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY LONG BEACH
COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
|
|
Engineering students learn a lot of theory. But here at the Beach, students also put that theory into practice. After two years of virtual collaboration, students this semester were finally back to working together in-person, producing practical and innovative solutions for senior design projects. It's also heartening to see industry partners back too, lending expertise to judge dozens of projects. We rely on our partners, as well as alumni such as Marwan Fawaz and Tim Mahoney (profiled below) to keep producing graduates highly coveted by industry. It's been a busy semester, and we're proud of producing a successful women in engineering conference, an awards banquet, and an outreach event for middle-school students. But we're not quite done celebrating yet. On Monday, May 16, the College will mark the graduation of more than 1,000 students at Angel's Stadium.

Computers Are In the Blood for CECS Alumni Timothy Mahoney

Tim Mahoney '13 didn't want to follow in the footsteps of his father, former COE Dean Mike Mahoney. But Tim, now a senior software engineer on Apple's iCloud team, couldn't resist the lure of computers for long.
