West Avenue Phase II Project

Two Week Look Ahead Schedule

Notice date: Dec. 22, 2025

We've summarized the contractor's expected schedule through the end of 2025. Please see it below, broken into the different areas of work. The contractor's full two-week look ahead schedule may be found online. It outlines ongoing and upcoming construction activities, including where crews are expected to be working and what type of work will be performed.

You can view the current schedule anytime under the “Two-Week Look Aheads” tab on the City’s project page: West Avenue Project Page

Important note: The contractor will temporarily cease operations beginning December 24, 2025 until January 4, 2026. Normal work operations will resume January 5, 2026. During this time, West Avenue north of Lincoln Road and portions of Lincoln Road between Alton Court and Bay Road will be secured safely and closed to vehicular traffic. West Avenue north of 16 Street will remain open to local traffic only and closed to through traffic.

Thank you again for your continued support and patience as work progresses in the neighborhood.

Here’s a quick recap of expected upcoming work:

Pump Station
(West Avenue next to the post office)

  • Electrical work inside FPL Vault

Segment 2

(West Avenue between the post office and just south of Lincoln Road; Lincoln Road between Alton Road and the bay; and the Bay Road and Lincoln Court street ends):

  • Locating underground utilities
  • Stormwater drainage installation (Lincoln Road)
  • Water quality well construction (Lincoln Road east of West Avenue)

Segment 3

(West Avenue from just south of Lincoln Road to 16 Street; and 16 Street between Alton Road and Bay Road):

  • Locate underground utilities

Tree Removals

In preparation for upcoming drainage installation work and harmonization efforts, the contractor has tagged trees for removal in the Segment 2 area. Based on the current schedule, the trees are expected to be removed in the new year.

New Water Main Testing

Testing of the newly installed water main is currently underway throughout the work zone. You may notice small taps of running water. Please do not touch, turn off or tamper with these taps. These tests are required by the Florida Department of Health and must run their full course without interruption. If they are stopped, the contractor (Ric-Man Construction Florida) would need to restart the process, which would cause delays. This testing is an important step to ensure the neighborhood’s water system is safe and ready for use and we appreciate your cooperation and patience while it is completed.

Safety Reminder

Your safety is our top priority. As work continues throughout the West Avenue Phase II Project, please don’t enter construction zones or move any signs, cones, or barricades. These safety measures are there to protect you and help keep the project moving smoothly. Staying informed will be key throughout the construction process, and our team remains committed to supporting the community every step of the way. Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to reach out.
