Public Beach Access Path Construction

Project Advisory: Friday, May 26, 2023

What's Happening

The City of Miami Beach will connect the public beach access path located north of 5959 Collins Ave to the Beachwalk. This project will provide pedestrians with continuity of mobility along our public pathways.

The contractor for this work, Metro Express, will raise the existing pavers on the beach access path to match the Beachwalk elevation for ADA compliance.

Timeline

This project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 5, 2023 and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please know that this schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • The beach access path will be closed during this project.
  • A section of the Beachwalk will be blocked for the contractor to stage their equipment. A pathway in this area will be left accessible for pedestrians and bikers to safely navigate around the construction site.
  • Moderate levels of noise are expected during this work.
  • Please heed to all signage and construction personnel.
