The latest two-week look ahead schedule for the West Avenue Neighborhood Improvements Project has been posted online. This schedule outlines ongoing and upcoming construction activities, including where crews will be working and what type of work to expect.
You can view the current schedule anytime under the “Two-Week Look Aheads” tab on the City’s project page: West Avenue Project Page
A summary of the contractor’s expected work is included below for your convenience. Thank you again for your continued support and patience as work progresses in the neighborhood.
Please note: On Wednesday, September 10, the east side of the crosswalk at Lincoln Road and West Avenue will be closed for sanitary sewer installation. Once work on the east side is complete, the contractor will shift to the west side to continue installing the sewer line. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, but please use caution and follow the posted detour signs.
Here’s a quick recap of expected work through September 21, 2025:
Segment 2:
- Sanitary sewer installation (Lincoln Road, from Alton Court toward Bay Road)
- 20-inch water main installation to commence after sanitary sewer installation (Lincoln Road)
Segment 3:
- Exploratory excavation continues within Segment 3 for existing utility verifications
- Water quality well drilling (16 Street, between Alton Court and West Avenue)
New Water Main Testing
Testing of the newly installed water main is currently underway throughout the work zone. You may notice small taps of running water. Please do not touch, turn off or tamper with these taps. These tests are required by the Florida Department of Health and must run their full course without interruption. If they are stopped, the contractor (Ric-Man Construction Florida) would need to restart the process, which would cause delays. This testing is an important step to ensure the neighborhood’s water system is safe and ready for use and we appreciate your cooperation and patience while it is completed.
Safety Reminder
Your safety is our top priority. As work continues throughout the West Avenue Phase II Project, please don’t enter construction zones or move any signs, cones, or barricades. These safety measures are there to protect you and help keep the project moving smoothly. Staying informed will be key throughout the construction process, and our team remains committed to supporting the community every step of the way. Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to reach out.
